Ingredients:
Creamy Mushroom Sauce:
• 125 g butter
• 1 large onion, chopped
• 500 g button mushrooms, sliced
• 500 ml (2 cups) Nestlé Ideal Low Fat Evaporated Milk
• 80 ml (⅓ cup) green peppercorns
• 50 ml Dijon mustard
• 250 g cream cheese
• Salt
Fillet:
• 80 ml (⅓ cup) Dijon mustard
• 50 ml Maggi Lazenby Worcestershire Sauce
• 50 ml olive oil
• 11 x 200 g fillet steaks
Method:
Creamy Mushroom Sauce:
- Melt the butter and sauté the onion and mushrooms until soft. Add the evaporated milk, peppercorns and mustard.
- Cook until reduced to a creamy sauce. Stir in the cream cheese and season with salt if necessary.
Fillet:
- Mix the mustard, Worcestershire sauce and oil and brush the steaks with the mixture.
- Pan-fry the steaks to the desired degree of doneness and serve with the creamy mushroom sauce, pommes frites (hot chips) and rocket leaves.
